Splicer To Aid Training

FORT MILL, SC | Flexographic Trade Services (FTS), which offers consulting and training services, has installed a new Martin Automatic splicer and rewinder combo on a narrow web label press. The MBSC butt splicer will be combined with an STR turret rewinder to provide nonstop roll changing for FTS's new Mark Andy P5 Performance Series press. It matches the press speed to 500 fpm.

The MBSC features rolling-shear splice unit, lift-and-load roll loading from the aisle, automatic roll sidelay to ensure webs are aligned at the splice, and inertia-compensated festoon. Unit is designed for web widths to 13 in. and roll diameters to 31.5 in.
