Dispenser is Low Maintenance; Reduces Running Cost

Under its Smart (th)inking slogan at Labelexpo Europe 2009, GSE Dispensing (Stand 12 U75) reports they will demonstrate that automated ink logistics are not only environment friendly – they help reduce running costs up to 30%, while delivering higher print quality and productivity.

The company offers a wide range of gravimetric ink dispensing systems, tailored to the individual needs of the graphics printer. The company reports that the Colorsat Match dispenser has been a major success, with over 40 label converters worldwide investing in the system since its introduction. The system is designed to enable clean, fast, and waste-free recipe preparation in batches of 1 to 5 kg. It reportedly has enabled printers to reduce running costs up to 30%.

The system is said to reduce ink usage by dispensing exactly what is needed for each job. It calculates the volume requirements for the most challenging spot recipes and dispenses a 5 kg batch to an accuracy of one gram in under four minutes. Any excess ink that does remain after a print run can be easily reused, located and retrieved from stock, the company reports. Press return inks, normally too complex to be calculated manually into new recipes, are thus included in future print runs.

The Match is supported by a high-powered software tool, IMS.™ This comes with several management tools, including stock control and ink consumption analysis. A modular system with maximum 20 components, Match is said to be low maintenance and easily assembled.
