Smurfit-Stone Earns Safety Awards

CHICAGO, IL | Three Smurfit-Stone Container Corp. box plants earned safety awards as a result of their ranking in the Fibre Box Assn. 2008 Corrugated Container Industry Annual Injuries and Illness Report. The report recognizes facilities with the fewest reported occupational injuries or illnesses in relation to the number of hours worked for the preceding calendar year.
The following Smurfit-Stone facilities were recognized for outstanding safety performance:
- Minneapolis, MN (corrugator plant)
- Richmond-North, VA (corrugator plant)
- Ft. Worth, TX (corrugator plant)
