UV Upgrade for Wide Format

SURREY, UK | GEW expands its UV offering to wide format printing through its recently launched IsoCure system for curing inks and coatings on both web and sheet-fed applications. The system can now be offered as an upgrade to a company’s existing printing or converting lines to increase energy and manufacturing efficiency and, in many cases, permit entry into new market areas. The new electronic UV-curing systems are said to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions while requiring no expensive modifications or VOC pollution controls such as those needed for heat-set and other drying methods. Features that have proved successful in the narrow web sector are now applicable to wide format, company says, including the energy-saving e-Brick power supply. The system is also water-cooled and available without the exhaust fans and ducting usually required for traditional systems.
