Water-Based Primer & Adhesion Promoter

SHELTON, CT | Mica Corp. introduces CurePrime technology for converters using two-component urethanes for adhesive laminations. New water-based primer and adhesion promoter can be applied to plain and printed films prior to the adhesive lamination step to achieve cures up to five times faster than normal. As an off-line primer/coating, CurePrime is said not to affect the pot life of the adhesive. Reported benefits of cure acceleration include: improved productivity, quality determination within hours after lamination, less interactions between adhesives and inks, less chances for wrinkles and telescoping, and no need for a hot room.
