Exceptional Packaging Solutions: The FPA Wants You

LINTHICUM, MD, USA—The Flexible Packaging Association is making its official 2001 call for entries for its annual Flexible Packaging Achievement Awards. The deadline for entries is November 21, 2001, reports the FPA, with the judging competition taking place on December 12 and the announcement of winners on March 1, 2002.

"If you've developed an exceptional packaging solution that's been put on the market in the past 18 months, I urge you to enter," says FPA president Marla Donahue. "The response to last year's [competition] was overwhelming. Not only did we receive more than double the number of entries from the prior year, but the quality of each packaging solution was remarkable," she adds.

Categories for this year's competition are: Packaging Excellence, eligible for Silver, Gold & Highest Achievement Awards; Technical Innovation, eligible for Silver & Gold Awards; Environmental Achievement, eligible for Silver & Gold Awards; and Printing Achievement, eligible for Silver & Gold Awards. Some of last year's winners include Cadillac Products Packaging Co., Alcan-Lawson Mardon, Rollprint Packaging Products Inc., Printpack Inc., Phoenix Packaging, Ampersand Label Co., Pechiney Plastic Packaging, and Stone Container Corp.

For registration and entry information, contact the FPA at 410/694-0800, or visit the association on the web at www.flexpack.org.
