Eliminate Strapping to Hold Spacers and Bearers

Now, you can eliminate the strapping process from your packaging line when using a RoRo StretchPack® packaging machine. This machine enables packaging of goods in a tubular stretch hood film, allowing spacers and bearers to be held in place without strapping.

The RoRo StretchPack® packaging machine by Tentoma A/S is suitable for 6-sided sealed packaging. Besides offering 100% waterproofing, it also allows the elimination of the strapping process from your packaging line. Removing the strapping process is feasible when strapping only is used to hold spacers or bearers in place below the packed product. Instead, the spacers, for example, are included inside the stretch hood film.

The tension forces of the stretch hood film ensure tight and smooth packaging and hold the spacers against the bottom of the packed products. This solution is suitable for products with friction between the product layers, preventing slipping, such as plasterboards, rigid foam panels, mineral wool, or similar materials.

Reduced cost of consumables

By utilizing the RoRo StretchPack® solution to hold spacers instead of traditional strapping, you save the investment and maintenance on strapping equipment. You will also reduce your cost of consumables as there is no need for straps. The film consumption will typically also be reduced due to tight single-layer packaging using stretch hood film.

This packaging solution also eliminates the risk of strapping marks on your products and thereby prevents the devaluation of the products. For end-users, it is easier to unpack the goods without strapping, and it eases handling packaging for recycling with only one type of packaging material (film).

Innovative horizontal packaging using stretch hood film

The RoRo StretchPack® packaging technology is based on well-proven stretch hood packaging for vertical hooding of, for example, pallets. The Danish-based company Tentoma A/S has refined the technology to enable horizontal packaging of goods in a tubular stretch hood film sealed at both ends. It provides 6-sided and sealed packaging in one single operation. RoRo StretchPack® is suitable for 100% waterproof packaging of rolls, building materials, and similar large products. It makes heat shrink redundant and minimizes excessive film use. When customers shift to RoRo StretchPack®, they typically see reductions in film consumption between 25-60% compared to conventional packaging methods such as orbital wrapping and heat shrink.
