American Roller Completes 3rd Acquisition in 12 Months

Company continues its American Roller Way people and process strategy.

American Roller has announced the acquisition of PETCO, Inc. in Lake Forest, IL. The acquisition further expands American Roller’s position as the industry leader in industrial rolls serving a wide variety of manufacturing markets.

PETCO Inc. was founded in 1961 by the Smith family, who built a successful business serving a large part of the Unites States midwest region. As part of the succession planning process, PETCO chose American Roller as the best steward of continuing the legacy and success for the customers and employees of PETCO.

The PETCO operations in Lake Forest, IL are being relocated to the American Roller Union Grove, WI facilities. All employees of PETCO are being retained by American Roller.

“We are grateful that the Smith family and PETCO employees have placed their trust in American Roller,” said Dan Cahalane, President, and CEO of American Roller. “I must also mention what an incredible team and business process we have in the American Roller Way. To complete 3 acquisitions in 12 months and integrate all of them immediately is incredible.”

In conjunction with this acquisition American Roller will increase its urethane casting business and further expand truck runs serving the Midwest region.

“We were seeking a true partner to carry on our success who was on solid financial ground and had a dynamic company management,” said Russell Smith, President of PETCO, Inc. “A partner committed to our employees and also committed to servicing our clients that earned us their trust and loyalty over many years.”

American Roller plans to make more announcements in early 2024 regarding new developments in its American Roller Way business strategy.

Terms of the transaction are not being disclosed.
