Troika Wins Technical Innovation Award

HIGHWORTH, WILTSHIRE, UK | Troika Systems, provider of quality control analysis management systems for the print industry, received a technical innovation award at the European Flexographic Industry Association (EFIA) annual print awards.

Troika was recognized for its AniCAM 3D scanning microscope. The judging panel, made up of industry representatives from a cross section of printers, suppliers, brand owners, and retailers, praised the company for developing a technology that assists the print industry to deliver improved consistency, productivity, and sustainability.

Troika says the AniCAM and its associated QC applications have set new standards in the measuring of anilox rolls, gravure cylinders, and flexographic plates, with a solution that ensures the rolls, cylinders, or plates are in optimum condition to minimize waste and improve production efficiencies.

Phil Hall, (https://www.linkedin.com/in/phil-hall-39b7021b) managing director at Troika, says, “[Our company] understands that quality, volume, and wear of the anilox rolls, gravure cylinders, and flexo plates cannot be underestimated. The AniCAM is a quality control tool which can be used to take single or multiple readings across a cylinder or plate at regular intervals. The data collected puts the printer in greater control of the whole process, driving up productivity, reducing waste, and improving quality in subsequent print runs.”

Reported benefits include increased press productivity, reduced consumables waste in the press shop, production consistency, and increased converter competitiveness and profitability.

The company will be attending drupa 2016,, May 31–June 10, in Düsseldorf, Germany, where it will unveil two new technologies: the CorruCAM, a tool that is able to measure aniloxes within corrugated presses, and the Advanced Inspection Microscope (AIM), said to be a fast and accurate 2D microscope that works in conjunction with different applications.
