Kodak Improved Thermal Plates Now in Latin America

SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL | Kodak announces a new formulation of its TRILLIAN SP thermal plate will now be available in Latin America.

The plates are said to provide high levels of productivity, efficiency and total-cost effectiveness, as well as a substantial reduction in chemistry compared to company’s previous plate systems. Reportedly they reduce total cost of ownership and also have environmental benefits because they use less chemistry. In addition, printers can eliminate preheat ovens and potentially postbake ovens, even for lengthy jobs in harsh chemical environments, company adds.

Plates are said to be compatible with existing CTP and processing equipment such as company’s TRENDSETTER, MAGNUS, and ACHIEVE platesetters, as well as enabling long, stable, and clean chemical cycles with easy processor cleaning.

Additionally, the plates are said to provide wide latitude for increased stability of short- and long-run AM and FM applications, with up to 500,000 impressions unbaked and 125,000 impressions for UV applications.
