Gusset Boards Are Light

Gusset boards are said to reduce friction, eliminate heat buildup, and weigh almost half as much as traditional wooden gussets. Newer designs allow for full layflats, without complete gusset removal, by fabricating removable tips, panels, and/or sections, avoiding interference in the collapsing tower. Gussets incorporate a proven coating process onto noses (tips) and edges, said to be the greatest points of friction.
