Double-Coated Adhesive Tapes

Co. describes Dublfilm SP407T and SP457E as thin, double-coated, PSA tapes engineered for general bonding, splicing, foam gasketing, and sound attenuation applications.
They reportedly offer an aggressive, high-tack, high-peel acrylic adhesive and bond exceptionally well to low-surface-energy plastics, EPDM rubbers, and ether and ester foams. The polyester carrier incorporated into Dublfilm SP407E provides added strength and dimensional stability. Dubifilm SP457E features a tissue carrier. Both products offer excellent resistance to environmental extremes, the mfr. notes.
P-S Films Added to Roll-Stocking Program

New family of p-s prime label films is stocked in 39-in., ready-to-slit masters for turnaround of 24-48 hr. Films are said to meet demanding requirements of performance, esthetics, and cost. These white facestocks are manufactured with a high-performance, cold-temperature acrylic adhesive that reportedly exhibits high initial tack. Mfr. says films are designed to wet out and adhere to a variety of substrates smoothly; offer good die-cutting and stripping characteristics; and use a 40# glassine liner to enhance strength and density for consistent converting, die-cutting, and reliable high-speed automatic dispensing.

The unit can be integrated with a Montalvo tension controller, such as the X-3000ce analog or S-3100ce digital controller. Flexo Press Converts Cartons in One Pass

Omet Multiboard flexographic press was developed specifically for the manufacture of folding cartons in a single pass. Starting from a roll, it will print, die-cut, crease, emboss, cut, and stack the finished product. Printing units include a number of patented innovations that reportedly ensure top quality printing and extremely quick size change. Press is available in 16-, 20-, and 24-in. widths, has a maximum speed of 500 fpm, and can handle board to 24 pt. Options include nonstop unwinds and rewinds, hot and cold foil-stamping, rotary screen printing, laminating units, and Omet's automatic registration system.

MBS Minicure modular UV curing system is said to adapt easily to a range of different application techniques within a combined system, providing major benefits for narrow web printers. Can be used for printing presses that have a chill roll assembly, as well as for presses that use a straight web path and water-cooled undershielding.
