Servo-Driven Press Increases Versatility

The ten-color, 17-in. E-Combat shaftless press features servo-driven controls for all press functions. Digital Data Management (DDM) system eliminates the use of analog press controls. Available in web widths of 11, 14.5, 17, and 21 in. Electronic drives enable the customer to print and convert substrates ranging from 15-micron film to carton board of 350 g/sq m without changing the mechanical configuration of the press, says mfr. Tension control system adjusts press controls automatically to the full range of substrates processed, eliminating operating errors and waste.

The Stealth 650 gearless flexo press features all-in-one-pass technology with front- and reverse-side printing available in up to 16 colors. Press uses water-based inks and offers solvent-free laminating and folding; silicone and hot melt coating and gluing; die-cutting, punching, and in-line slitting; UV and/or hot air drying; and nonstop production with flying splice/turret rewind.

UV-Blocking Overlaminate Enhances Graphics

JETbond 41218 1-mil UV blocking overlaminating polyester is designed to extend the life of digitally printed graphics for outdoor POP applications. Co. says product offers converters a cost-effective way to increase the life of graphics exposed to damaging UV rays, moisture, and scratching. Film is coated with a clear, permanent, p-s acrylic adhesive compatible with most dye-based inks. It is backed with one-side, polycoated, semi-bleached, white kraft release liner, which reportedly aids in good adhesive clarity.
