Carton/Corrugated Preprint

Packaging Corp. of America, Waco, TX, grabs top honors for the Hoover vacuum cleaner box. The corrugated carton features four colors, plus two special colors printed on 12-pt. solid bleached sulfate (SBS) board on a Cerutti press using solvent-based ink and aqueous coating. This gravure preprint product, which replaced an existing offset-printed top sheet laminated to corrugated boxes, is said to have improved both quality and speed. Judges say, “The type is clean and crisp, and the aqueous coating adds to the appeal of the finished job. This is truly an outstanding point-of-display carton and is likely to catch the consumer eye.”
