- Wise Systems, Shamong, NJ, introduces a revised website at www.wisesystems.com to make it easier for customers to obtain information about the company's products and to place orders online. Wise Systems also unveils a new website, www.thermaltransfernow.com, that provides converters with broad access and easy ordering of thermal transfer paper and adhesive combinations.
- Squid Ink, Brooklyn Park, MN, donates a new VDP In-Line variable data printing system valued at $50,000 to Dunwoody College of Technology, Minneapolis, MN, to be used by students learning to run flexographic equipment. The system, mounted on the college's 10-in. flexo press from Mark Andy, St. Louis, MO, uses industrial inkjet technology to print such variable data as game codes on tickets, tags, and labels.
- Yerecic Label, New Kensington, PA, installs a new Mark Andy Performance Series P7 press to support the company's lean initiatives and streamline production processes. The P7 is a 12-color, 17-in. press and features a custom delamination and relamination kit, high-efficiency hot air drying system, and movable UV curing. It is equipped to allow Yerecic to expand into thin unsupported films.
- Polyonics, Westmoreland, NH, wins a 2009 Global Technology Award in the labeling category from Global SMT & Packaging magazine. The award recognizes the ProductSentry series label materials that allow manufacturers to begin a track and trace program to fight counterfeiters beginning at the work in process (WIP) level.
- Nuova GIDUE, Tavarnuzze, Italy, installs an Xpannd press at Colorpress in Poland. The 12-color combination press configuration includes units for offset, flexo, screen, hot stamping, rotary embossing, die-cutting, and sheeting.
- Masterpiece Graphix (MGX), Fenton, MO, partners with acpo to distribute acpo's new line of digital self-wound overlaminates to HP Indigo users and other digital press operators. MGX also launches a redesigned website, including an organized product directory, at www.mgxdigital.com.
