Disc Graphics' 150,000-sq-ft facility is home to an extensive portfolio of equipment that president/CFO Margaret Krumholz believes allows the company to stay ahead in a highly competitive industry. Diverse printing options include straight four-color process to eight colors in a single pass utilizing Pantone's Hexachrome six-color system. Disc can print, coat, and apply specialized metallics on a variety of substrates including paper, paperboard, film, and pressure-sensitive label stock.

The flexographic printing division offers print capabilities that include two eight-color presses from Mark Andy, a 7-in. Model 2200 with in-line ultraviolet (UV) station and a 10-in. Model 2200 offering in-line UV, silk screen, film lamination, and foil stamping capability. A ten-color, 10-in. Nilpeter Model FB 2500 features interstation UV, dual-web capabilities, and an automatic print register system.

In an effort to build on its increasing number of shorter-run clients, Disc recently added digital capabilities to its mix, offering the latest technology in digital workflow and featuring the Kodak NexPress S3000.

Most of Disc's specialty packaging comes out of its offset division. Presses include a six-color, 56-in. KBA Rapida with UV interstation and aqueous and UV coating in-line; a six-color, 40-in. Heidelberg CD 102 with interstation UV capabilities and UV and aqueous coating in-line; and a seven-color, 30-in. Komori Lithrone LSX-729 featuring in-line roll-to-sheet capability, in-line coating, and a fully automatic plate-changing system to improve makeready time.

Foil stamping, embossing, and die-cutting equipment includes Bobst-142 and 103 Easy Press Pre-Make Ready Systems; Bobst-102BMA 40-in. stamping press; Bobst-142CER 56-in. die-cutter with blanking; Bobst-103E 40-in. die-cutter with stripping; Bobst-103ER 40-in. die-cutter with blanking; and the most recent addition, Heidelberg's Diana Pro high-speed folder/gluer.
