FIRST GLANCE

Nature's Noodles

Nature's Farm, Steinbach, MB, Canada, has introduced a line of gourmet pasta made from the company's free-range eggs (produced from hens fed an all-natural vegetarian diet). The company is packaging the pasta in NatureFlex, a sustainable, compostable film from UK-based Innovia Films. Hermann Grauer, founder of Nature's Farm, says, “We are committed to ecological sustainability and stewardship. NatureFlex is fully sustainable, lessens environmental impact, and has fitted into our production line process with only minimal adjustment required.”

Neo-Bonding

Glue Dots Intl., New Berlin, WI, says its p-s MatrX, designed for use in industrial packaging applications, is a faster, easier, and safer method of substrate-to-substrate bonding. New technology consists of a pattern of adhesive micro-dots and comes in widths of ¼ in. and ½ in. Thicknesses range from 5-15 mils. Product is available in both permanent and removable formulas, providing optimum strength for long-lasting attachment, yet minimal but effective for quick-release applications.

Rich, Creamy Color

When Darigold, Seattle, WA, introduced its French Vanilla and Hazelnut flavored creamers, it chose a new contoured bottle with easy-to-pour cap, combined with shrink sleeve labels from Printpack, Atlanta, GA. Gravure printed in six colors, the labels “provide excellent shelf presence that we believe will lead to increased sales,” says Randy Eronimous, Darigold's director of marketing. The glossiness of Printpack's Pure Affinia PETG film enhances the high impact graphics on the 360-deg label.
