Fort Mill, Sc | The Assn. of Industrial Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators (AIMCAL) announces the establishment of the Converting Portal, an information resource for the converting industry. Now live at www.convertingportal.com, the Converting Portal provides a one-stop reference point for a wide range of information about converting technology, troubleshooting, training, and events.

AIMCAL executive director Craig Sheppard says webinars — a new medium for AIMCAL — will be held throughout 2009 to discuss relevant topics and technology developments with leading experts. Webinars may be heard live or accessed on-demand through the Converting Portal. Beginning in early January, AIMCAL will run a series of free webinars on sustainability in the converting industry.

A continuing series of webinars by Tim Walker of TJWalker+Assoc. on web handling and converting will be available for a fee. In addition, the Converting Portal provides links to major converting trade associations, publications, and trade shows.
