Graphics of the Americas 2001 Will Offer a Hot Time
- Published: January 01, 2001
Florida may have faded from the election spotlight, but it will be center stage for the graphics arts/converting industries February 2-4, 2001, when Graphics of the Americas returns.
Held at the Convention Center in Miami Beach, FL, the twenty-sixth annual event is sponsored by the Printing Association of Florida (PAF). Approximately 1,600 exhibitors are expected, and PAF reported in December that attendee registration was on track to exceed 25,000 from four continents.
Two industry leaders will be inducted into PAF's Graphic Arts Leaders of the Americas Hall of Fame. They are Lourival Dantas, the third Brazilian to receive this honor, and Joe Arriola, the second Floridian and the first Cuban-American. The induction will take place at the event's Gala, a reception/dinner to be held at the Biscayne Bay Marriott Hotel on February 2.
Other special events include an anti-counterfeiting exhibit presented by the US Secret Service February 2-4; and a Sheet-Fed Pressroom Conference jointly sponsored by PAF and GATF (Graphic Arts Technical Foundation). The conference will be held from 8:30 A.M.-6:00 P.M. on January 31 and from 8:30 A.M.-1:00 P.M. on February 1.
