Drupa Sessions Will Point the Way

CHICAGO, IL

The popular concept of “modularity” certainly will be featured at drupa 2008, and not just in the machinery exhibited. The event, to be held May 29-June 11 at the Düsseldorf, Germany, Fairgrounds, includes an ancillary program which drupa 2008 project director Manuel Mataré calls a modular system. He says the system “gives visitors the opportunity to put together a personalized package and thus get the most out of the expertise [offered].” The ancillary program includes Highlights Tours, drupa innovation parc powered by HP, an industry forum, and Compass Sessions.

The Compass Sessions are two-hour intensive workshops staged daily from 9:00-11:00 A.M. in the Congress Center East at the Fairgrounds. Organized by Print & Media Forum AG, each session will be devoted to a different topic concerning technology and new lines of business in the printing industry, and each will comprise four half-hour talks by industry experts. Participation in the Compass Sessions costs e75 (e60 for members of the German Printing and Media Industries Federation).

Compass Session topics include the following: digital/inkjet printing (May 30); digital workflows (May 31); offset printing (June 2); web-to-print solutions (June 3); printed electronics (June 4); pre-media (June 5); package printing (June 6); digital/inkjet printing (June 7); digital workflows (June 9); pre-media (June 10); and offset printing (June 11).
