Tapes Made to Reduce Friction
SAUNDERSTOWN, RI—DeWAL Industries is offering Dynaglide PTFE (Teflon) tapes with p-s acrylic or silicone adhesive.
DW 602BT tapes are said to exhibit excellent wear resistance and smooth surfaces in wet or dry applications. They are engineered to reduce friction and are appropriate for linear slide bearing applications.
Can be cut from 0.500–12 in. wide. With adhesive on one side, tape is supplied with a backing for easy die-cutting and application.
Tapes feature high temperature resistance, smooth self-lubricating surfaces, and peel-off release liners.
RFID Offerings Expanded
MASON CITY, IA—Metalcraft, a provider of property ID solutions, reports new pricing and an expansion of its standardized RFID product constructions aimed at speeding production and lowering costs for customers. Available immediately are the four standard constructions: adhesive labels, flag tags, hang tags, and mount-on-metal labels.
The new flag tag, an adhesive label with a non-adhesive folding tab that offsets the inlay, is said to be especially recommended for blade servers and other metal-surfaced assets or liquid storage containers.
Two Industry Sales
CHICAGO, IL—Mesirow Financial reports it served as advisor in two recent sales in the narrow web converting industry.
Dot Label, formerly owned by private equity group Colonnade Capital, was sold to ITW. Rx Label, formerly owned by private equity group Pfingsten Partners, has been acquired by Cenveo.
AVT, Nilpeter China Agreement
HOD-HASHARON, ISRAEL—Advanced Vision Technology (AVT) reports a distribution agreement with Nilpeter China to support AVT’s growth in the Chinese market, especially targeting the label and narrow web sectors.
China has been a fast-growing market for AVT for several years, the company says, with leading customers in the flexible packaging, cigarette packaging, and label printing markets, for both wide and narrow web applications.
“With Nilpeter China as our partners, we can better meet the specific needs of the quality-driven Chinese market,” says Gal Shamri, VP of marketing for AVT Ltd.
Partnering Eases Ordering
MILWAUKEE, WI—Tailored Solutions is partnering with three coating materials suppliers to interface with Label Traxx, its print business management system for flexographic label printers and converters.
The partner companies are Acucote, Technicote, and Spinnaker Coatings. They join rollstock vendors Fasson, Green Bay Packaging, MACtac, and UPM Raflatac, all of which permit ordering via Label Traxx.
Jim Palamides, general manager at American Label, Salt Lake City, UT, says, “We were one of the test sites for automatic ordering. We use it with MACtac and Fasson and would use it with more suppliers if they partner with Label Traxx. I figure it saves me up to an hour and a half a day on the phone, and our orders are essentially error-free.”
Eric Jones, general manager at The Label Co., Santa Ana, CA, agrees. “…It takes the human factor, and all the resulting errors, out of the equation..…Everything is automatic, including the confirmation.…”
Inlay Affixing Solution Displayed
ROMSEY, HAMPSHIRE, UK—More than 50 customers visited Edale’s UK headquarters to experience the Lambda concept. On display was a Lambda configured as an off-line solution for RFID inlay affixing, incorporating the Tamarack P500 RFID unit.
The Lambda features “plug and play” technology said to allow specification of any conceivable configuration and open-architecture design enabling adjustment, reconfiguration, and upgrade.
Edale calls the press an “infinitely flexible solution” with many off-line possibilities, including coating, booklet insertion, multiweb application, two RFID insertion configurations, and more.
