Nilpeter A/S Acquires Roto Press Intl.
DAVIE, FL, USA—Nilpeter A/S has announced the acquisition of Roto Press International, a Cincinnati, OH-based manufacturer of narrow web presses for the label and packaging industries.

In merging the two companies and combining their management structure, John D. Little, president of Nilpeter Inc., becomes chairman of the board, and Andrew M. Colletta becomes president and CEO of Nilpeter Inc.

Roto Press Intl. is a manufacturer of flexo, UV flexo, and combination presses in widths from 10-24 in. for the label and packaging markets. Founded in 1919, Nilpeter is a manufacturer of web-fed label printing presses, exporting in excess of 97% of the production from its headquarters in Denmark.

Premium Printing Process Goes Worldwide
NILES, IL, USA—Graphic Converting Inc. has acquired the exclusive license to sell and manufacture on a worldwide basis what is described as a patented premium printing process, designated Textured Graphic Images, for trading cards, game cards, playing cards, and greeting cards.

Headquartered in the Chicago area with a manufacturing facility in Carlsbad, CA, Graphic Converting is one of the largest graphic arts manufacturing providers in the US. Established in 1976, Graphic Converting maintains a roster of national clients including McDonald's, The Upper Deck Co., American Greetings, and Jim Beam Brands.

The process is described as a unique, metallized printing application that uses a textured printed detraction process. Combining UV inks with a special formulated UV coating, the defractive qualities create what Graphic Converting calls a "dazzling array of light."

Xaar, Sun Jet Ink Partnership Agreement
CAMBRIDGE, U.K.—Xaar, an ink jet development company, and SunJet, a div. of Sun Chemical, have signed an ink partnership agreement that will allow the companies to work closely together to develop and manufacture a range of inks for use in XaarJet printheads that are used in a variety of vertical markets within the industrial printing sector, including labels.

The two companies will support the development, acceptance, and applications of ink jet printing for packaging applications.
