New CMM Show aims at Latin American markets

CMM of the Americas joins two related shows this spring in Miami, turning the industry spotlight south of the border.

When CMM of the Americas makes its initial appearance April 10-12, 1996, at the Miami Beach Convention Center, attendees will find 120-125 exhibitors, a full-fledged conference program, and two other shows under the same roof!

The targeted version of the Converting Machinery/Materials Exposition, produced and managed by Blenheim Group USA, a div. of the Blenheim Group PLC, will be held in conjunction with Plasticos De Las Americas and Foodpack of the Americas. The former is a new exposition/conference, aimed at the Latin American plastics industry and produced by Bill Communications, Caravajal, S.A., and Coast Publishing (Coast Com.).

The sixth annual Foodpack of the Americas, also from Blenheim, is reported to be the only pan-American trade show exclusively focused on bringing North American and European machinery manufacturers together with Latin American food processors and packagers. Foodpack '96 will feature 225 exhibits from 35 countries. A conference program is included.

According to Leo Nadolske, VP Blenheim Group USA, Industrial Group, "Although each show is targeted to its own specific audience, there will be a large percentage of Latin American packagers and processors in attendance who are interested in all three areas - packaging, converting, and plastics." Organizers expect that the three shows will attract more than 8,000 attendees.

The keynote address will be presented April 10 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. by Sergio Haberfeld, who will discuss the connection that binds the three industry segments represented by the three shows. Mr. Haberfield, president of Dixie Toga, Brazil, is the CMM Latin American Converter of the Year and will be presented with the award during the show. He is VP of the Brazilian Assn. of the Flexible Packaging Industries and will become president of the Brazilian Packaging Assn. Feb. 29, 1996.

CMM Conference Program

CMM of the Americas will offer a conference program that includes technical sessions sponsored by the Flexographic Technical Assn. (FTA) and the Assn. of Industrial Metallizers, Coaters, and Laminators (AIMCAL) and two general sessions. The FTA sessions will be bilingual.
