Benham Joins TAPPI Board Of Directors

TAPPI has announced that its members elected John V. Benham to a three-year term on its Board of Directors beginning February 2001. Benham is Manager of Operations at Equistar Chemicals Technology Center in Cincinnati, OH. He earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Illinois and a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Roosevelt University.
Benham's election to the TAPPI Board of Directors recognizes his 18 years of service and significant contributions to the Polymers, Laminations and Coatings Division and to TAPPI. He has held many leadership positions in the division including Chairperson from 1996-1998. He has also served the division as Conference Chair, Technical Program Chair, Division Secretary, Council Member, and Vice Chairperson. Benham has also held all the offices of the Extrusion Coating Committee. In 1990, he received the Polymers, Laminations and Coatings Division Leadership and Service Award and Andreas Ahlbrandt Prize. In 1987, he received a Best Session Award at the annual division conference.
Benham is the third person from the Polymers, Laminations and Coatings Division elected to the TAPPI Board of Directors. Previous members were David A. Markgraf, who served from 1998-2000, and David J. Bentley, Jr., who served from 1992-1994.
