Rosenthal Mfg. Co. Inc., Northbrook, IL, reports that founder Harry Rosenthal died on January 7 at the age of 96. Rosenthal started the co. in 1928 with wife Bessie to develop machinery for the laundry industry. In the 1940s, the co. began developing sheeters and other converting equipment for the packaging industry.

Leo Nadolske has been named VP of trade shows and conferences for the New York, NY, office of paperloop.com. Nadolske will be responsible for 19 trade shows, conferences, and events worldwide. Nadolske previously was VP of CMM Events at Miller Freeman Inc. before the division was acquired by paperloop in March 2000.

Ralph Searles, co-CEO of Great Northern Corp., Appleton, WI, and president of wholly owned sub. Packaging Service Inc., retired Dec. 31, 2000.

Primarc UV Technology, Slough, England, a mfr. of UV curing lamps and equipment, has set up a mfg. facility in Phillipsburg, NJ, to complement its already established sales office. The production plant is now in operation.

Klockner Pentaplast of America Inc., Gordonsville, VA, reports it will divest all non-film activities, including packaging machinery, filling equipment, and other interests. This will allow the co. to concentrate on its global film business via internal expansions, new products, and select acquisitions.

FlexoExport Ltd. has moved to 42-2 River St., Old Saybrook, CT. A satellite office will remain open in the Monroe, CT, area.

Transilwrap, Franklin Pk., IL, has appointed Sharon Snyder South American export coordinator and Fred Caruso treasurer.

Stephen Bidelman will serve as sales rep. for ECM Products, Mendon, MI, within the merchant and packaging distribution channels in Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska, and southwestern Minnesota.

Robert Bourne has become sales manager for press technology at Matik North America, West Hartford, CT.

The Packaging Education Forum has selected H.J. Heinz Co., Pittsburgh, PA, as Packaging Leader of the year 2000-2001. The award was given inrecognition of the co.'s "customer-responsive packaging innovations; and the ingenuity, dedication, and hard work of the Heinz product mfg. and packaging professionals responsible for bringing these ideas to market."

Phoenix Packaging, Maple Grove, MN, has added Bob Davis as operations leader of the Maple Grove facility.

Dr. Sam Langridge was appointed sales director of Servomex Group Ltd., Norwood, MA.

OEC Graphics, Oshkosh, WI, has appointed John Valaskey plant manager of the prepress facility.

Caraustar Industries Inc., Atlanta, GA, has completed the acquisition of Arrow Paper Products Co. of Saginaw, MI. Arrow operates tube and core converting facilities.

Great Lakes Packaging Corp., Germantown, WI, announces that James Nelson will serve as general manager of the Container Products Group, and Sigmund Hardel is now sales rep. for high quality graphics and specialty corrugated in the Chicago, IL, area.
