Sun Chemical's WetFlex system and UniQure inks were honored with the Award for Innovation-Environmental at the Flexotech Intl. Print and Innovation Awards held in London, UK. Sun says WetFlex technology delivers wet-on-wet flexo printing using UniQure inks, a new-generation, energy-curable ink technology developed specifically for the process. The inks contain no alcohols, organic solvents, or volatile compounds other than water. Since ink trapping is achieved without interstation drying, no solvent recovery system or incineration is necessary when using the inks in normal printing operations.
