Expanding Source Reduction

Charter Films reports success with source reduction efforts for its converting customers and says it plans to continue to expand on this initiative. Charter is equipped with real-time on-line gauging control for all of its film lines, allowing production of sealant films with superior gauge profile and tight tolerance to specs. Because of this, the company adds, its converting customers now are able to proceed with lighter gauge sealant films in their finished laminations. And in turn, this allows Charter's customers to meet the demands of brand owners for source reduction and cost control.
