PVC Keeps Tanks Fit

Ada, OK | A PVC liner system kept deteriorating water tanks in Ada from leaking. Fab-Seal Industries fabricated and installed the liner using an FDA-compliant material from RTP's Sheet & Film Div. The material, which is radio frequency (RF) sealable during on-site installation, is certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 61 for Drinking Water Systems.

Ken Kane, plant manager for Fab-Seal, says, “The fact that the liner system was RF sealable was very important. RF sealing basically melts the two surfaces lapped together into one piece using radio waves to generate the heat required to melt the PVC.”

Kane adds, “The consistency in the width of the material and its flexibility are very important. With the RTP material, the liner easily conformed to the floor and sidewall slope, allowing a better fit.”
