Leadership Position Changes at Gateway Packaging

GRANITE CITY, IL | Gateway Packaging reports changes in key leadership positions. Timothy J. Nelson, principal and board member, along with the board of directors of Saw Mill Capital, has approved the transition of Roger D. Miller from chairman and CEO to chairman of the board, on January 1, 2012. At that time, Gateway president and COO Omar Abuaita will become CEO, reporting directly to the board of directors.

Miller says, “It has been my honor and privilege to lead Gateway as CEO for over 30 years. During this time, I have had the opportunity to appoint and manage what I believe is the best leadership team in our industry.…I have never been more confident than I am today in Gateway’s current position and future potential.” Omar Abuaita has worked in the packaging industry for more than 24 years and became COO of Gateway in June of 2011.

Founded by Roger Miller in 1982 as a small family-owned business, Gateway has grown to a full-service packaging solutions company supplying flexible packaging for thousands of major consumer brands. Capabilities include labels, flexible packaging rollstock, preformed pouches, heat seal lidding, and multiwall bag manufacturing with flexo or high-definition offset printing.
