Drytac Launches Anti-Scratch Film

BRISTOL, UK | Drytac, an international manufacturer of self-adhesive materials for the print, label, and industrial markets, has announced the expansion of its Protac range of films with the introduction of Protac Anti-Scratch Gloss. Company says this 4-mil (100-µ) clear PET laminating film with a scratch-resistant hard coat, high gloss finish, has been designed to add depth, detail, and protection for printed graphics

Coated on one side with a pressure-sensitive, solvent acrylic adhesive with a PET release liner, Protac Anti-Scratch Gloss film is said to be ideal for the protection and enhancement of inkjet prints, department store advertising, POS displays, or for any application where a durable, high-gloss, mirror-like finish is desired. Also said to be in art galleries and museums.

Shaun Holdom, Drytac’s newly appointed global product manager, says, “We’re delighted to add this new solution to our product range. Protac Anti-Scratch Gloss can be used with cold- or heat-assisted laminators and features a high-performance adhesive [we] developed for the lamination of output from (eco) solvent, latex, and UV printers.

He adds, “Protac Anti-Scratch Gloss is very durable thanks to its scratch-resistant hard coat. Its formulation ensures that the final printed output has zero shrinkage and high clarity and is resistant to chemicals. The adhesive is a solvent-based permanent acrylic, which means it has good moisture resistance, and additionally, the siliconized polyester liner ensures a smoother finish.”
