Pillow Cushions

Pregis Corp., Deerfield, IL, has launched HC Renew, a biodegradable, hybrid cushioning material. The LDPE film, which has up to 10% recycled content, contains a proprietary organic additive said to accelerate microbial biodegradation without compromising recyclability. Flat, perforated rollstock is mounted on the company's AirSpeed HC unit that creates the rows of small air-filled pockets. This creates a cushioning structure that reportedly is stronger than traditional single-cell pillows, making it suitable for more rigorous applications.
