Radiation Reader

OneDose, manufacturered by Sicel Technologies, Morrisville, NC, is a patient dosimetry verification system that measures radiation dose through the use of a disposable adhesive patch affixed to the skin prior to treatment. After treatment, a handheld reader displays and stores data from the patch. The system consists of a single p-type metal oxide-silicon semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET) detector and an electrically erasable/programmable memory device. The circuitry is constructed on 0.05-mm-thick polyimide and encapsulated with epoxy. A medical-grade adhesive and release liner are provided on the back side of the detector to permit secure attachment to the patient. The detector is connected to a portable battery-powered reader via an integrated seven-lead connector. OneDose is wireless, making it non-intimidating to patients.
