The CorrTube from Cortec Corp., St. Paul, MN, can be used to provide corrosion protection for raw barstock, cylindrical parts, gears, and bearings during shipping or storage. Spiral wound tubing is made of kraft linerboard impregnated with the company's Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitor (VpCI), which protects ferrous and non-ferrous metals by forming an invisible barrier from humidity, SO2, H2S, and galvanic corrosion. The tube does not contain hazardous materials, such as nitrites, phosphates, or silicates. It is environmentally safe, recyclable/repulpable, and biodegradable.
