Show Preview | IADD•FSEA Odyssey 2017 Serves Folding Carton, Corrugated Converters

Techshop simulates working production shop floor where technical sessions are taught on-press.

The International Assn. of Diecutting and Diemaking (IADD) and the Foil & Specialty Effects Assn. (FSEA) will present Odyssey 2017, an education and technology expo, at the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and Convention Center, Schaumburg, IL, May 17-19. The event offers folding carton and corrugated converters targeted educational programming, equipment demonstrations, and social networking opportunities.

Organizers report nearly 100 exhibitors and more running machinery specific to the fields of diecutting/diemaking, foil stamping, and folding/gluing than any other North American tradeshow this year. Examples include foil stamping and diecutting presses; high-speed folder-gluers; auto benders; UV coating machinery; flat and rotary laser cutting systems; samplemakers; stripping pin insertion machines; routing systems; rotary converting platforms; mounting systems, and more.

The Odyssey's Techshop environment simulates a working production shop floor where technical sessions are taught on-press throughout the three-day event. Attendees discover practical solutions to everyday challenges from press operators who are experts in their field.

Equipment demonstrations are shown on large screens, and attendees wear special headsets to ensure they hear every word from the presenters over the noise of the machinery. Equipment suppliers will lead on-press demonstrations on topics ranging from laser cutter maintenance and makeready for difficult substrates to improving press productivity with automation.
