PRESS RELEASE
KENNESAW, GA, USA—Heidelberg reports the departure of the head of its North American business operations, Mr. Niels M. Winther. The management of all sales, service, and support functions provided by Heidelberg's largest sales and service unit, Heidelberg USA, Inc., is assumed by Mr. James P. Dunn.
An employee of Heidelberg for more than 30 years, Winther expressed interest to leave the organization and pursue other opportunities while spending more time with his family, says Heidelberg.
"He has been recognized for his leadership by customers and associations alike in the United States, Canada, and many other countries around the globe. Throughout his career with Heidelberg, he has embraced a philosophy of leadership, education, and support for professionals throughout the entire print media industry, all with focus on the customer," adds the Germany-based press manufacturer.
According to Heidelberg, Dunn—who has been responsible for the holding company that supports all of Heidelberg's North and South American activities—is expected to make a seamless transition into his new role. His extensive knowledge of the industry and of the Heidelberg group will serve him well as he takes on his new responsibilities.
The company adds that Winther will remain available to Heidelberg during the transition phase and will continue to serve Heidelberg and the industry in every capacity necessary.
Says Heidelberg CEO Bernhard Schreier, "We want to thank Niels for his great support to both Heidelberg and the print media industry over the years. We are also most pleased that Jim will take up the task of guiding the sales and service activities in the US market. Jim's many years of experience with Heidelberg will serve him well in this capacity."
Dunn has held numerous positions throughout the Heidelberg community spanning more than three decades of service and leadership around the globe, including president of the Heidelberg Americas shared services division and chief financial officer of Heidelberg Web Systems.
Born in 1949 in New Jersey, James Dunn attended Boston College in Newton, MA, and received a bachelor's degree in 1971 in business administration, specializing in finance. According to the company, Dunn is an active member in national industry-related organizations and local charities in his home town in the metro-Atlanta area, where he enjoys a variety of recreational activities, along with what he considers to be his natural pastime—being a father to his two daughters.
"Our continued efforts to better serve our customers and the United States print media industry has and will always remain the core focus of each and every decision we make," notes Dunn. "Having been given this unique opportunity, I'm thankful to all of our customers, business partners, and employees for their well wishes to both Niels and myself."
