Pliant Corp. Expanding Capacity for Production of Revolution Brand Films

PRESS RELEASE

SCHAUMBURG, IL, USA—Pliant Corporation reports it is in the process of expanding its capacity to produce Revolution brand stretch-wrap products significantly. According to the film and flexible packaging manufacturer, it's expanding its production in several plants, including production in a brand new state-of-the-art production line in its Lewisburg, TN, USA, facility; the new production line will make Pliant's patent-pending Revolution products for the North American market, Pliant adds.

Pliant says its Revolution film products result from specific process refinements coupled with patent-pending structures that enable customers to lower their packaging costs for securing products or pallet loads for shipment. "Tests continue to prove that no film is better for lowest life-cycle cost than Revolution films," reports the manufacturer.

Adds Pliant's technical director of its industrial films division John Cook, "It has taken many years of development with polymer science and manufacturing approaches to perfect this product line, and we are very proud our break-through efforts are being rewarded in the marketplace with customers buying it as their first choice."

Revolution films are said to allow the end-user to down-gauge—from current conventional films—significantly. This down-gauging, explains Pliant, enables users to benefit from source reduction, higher roll yield, productivity enhancement, and "ultimately, the lowest total cost per pallet wrapped. Revolution film consistently outperforms conventional machine films, with increased integrity, less roll changes, and better throughput. It does not re-stretch or puncture, despite sudden load movement while shipping, providing superior load retention. The end result is stretch pallet wrap with significantly reduced cost-in-use without sacrificing load containment," adds the manufacturer.
