TLMI Reports Events and Goals for 2015
- Published: March 24, 2015
GLOUCESTER, MA | The Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute (TLMI) recently announced the association’s goals and agenda for the 2015 calendar year. Central to the association’s objectives in 2015 is the continuation and further development of TLMI’s brand promise: To deliver industry insights that drive the business success of the association’s converter and supplier members.
The TLMI board of directors reports the recent release of the association’s first North American Digital Label Study. The report is a complimentary resource for all TLMI members and provides a comprehensive overview of the North American marketplace for digital production printing. The study provides TLMI members with a series of converter benchmarking metrics, brand owner feedback and analysis, installation and market sizing data, and projections per major digital printing format to 2020.
The TLMI Converter Meeting will take place in Sea Island, GA, March 9–12, where the winners of this year’s Eugene Singer Awards for Management Excellence will be announced and honored. The Eugene Singer Award recognizes excellence in business management measured and defined by an established set of growth and profitability ratios through participation in the TLMI Management Ratio Study.
TLMI will be participating in Label & Packaging Printing Industry Day organized by Tarsus June 25 in Milwaukee, WI. TLMI Chairman Dan Muenzer, VP of marketing for the Label Div. of Constantia Flexibles, and marketing committee co-Chair Cindy White, president and CEO of Channeled Resources Group, will be presenting to attendees the benefits of TLMI membership and providing details on a number of specific resources TLMI provides its converter and supplier members.
September 1–3 the TLMI Technical Conference will take place in Chicago, IL. The conference occurs every other year and is a two-day forum that features technical speakers and business experts discussing significant issues and opportunities in the narrow web printing industry today.
The TLMI Annual Meeting will take place in Colorado Springs, CO, October 8–11, where the winners of the Converter of the Year, Supplier of the Year, and Environmental Awards will be announced. Also announced will be the winners of the 2015 Label Awards Competition. The competition recognizes technical achievement in all areas of the narrow web industry.
The association also will be participating in the FINAT European Label Forum June 11–13 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, in addition to Labelexpo Europe held September 29–October 2 in Brussels, Belgium. On September 28, Dan Muenzer will be representing the association at the L9 meeting. L9 is the alliance of global label associations, formulating policies and strategic information in connection with global matters affecting the worldwide label industry.
Further initiatives include the L.I.F.E. Certification program and the association’s Biannual Index & Trend Report. Published in June and December, the report features industry forecasts and projections for each of the narrow web end-use sectors in addition to tracking TLMI converter members’ growth against major economic indices.
TLMI president Frank Sablone says, “This is another exciting year for TLMI. The association has just published its first digital study, we are once again expecting high attendance rates at our meetings and forums, and the Technical Conference in Chicago promises to be an outstanding event. A central goal of [our] board of directors is to continue to offer our members resources and practical tools they can apply to their own businesses. We are a member-driven association, and our success is reliant upon the value our converter and supplier members receive year after year.”
