Mike Brandmeier, President and CEO of Toray Plastics (America), Inc., Receives Strategic Leadership Award

Mike Brandmeier, president and CEO of Toray Plastics (America), Inc., has received the Providence Business News’s 2019 Manufacturing Award in the Strategic Leadership category. The award was presented to Brandmeier on March 13 at the sixth annual Manufacturing Awards dinner in Providence, R.I.

Brandmeier joined Toray in 1995 as the director of sales for the Torayfan® Polypropylene Division. He was named president in June 2014. Brandmeier has been a visionary leader who has helped the company to navigate major expansions, market volatility and significant shifts in the industry while maintaining its leadership position in its core markets and achieving record safety levels. He has also reportedly ensured that Toray has continued to be a responsible environmental steward and active in the Rhode Island community, generously partnering with government, education and non-profit organizations.

“This award is really for all the Toray employees who work hard every day to help our customers meet their goals,” said Brandmeier. “I am just one among many doing the best I can to help us succeed together.”

“Mike is a model leader,” said Lisa A. Ahart, vice President of U.S. corporate human resources and environmental health and safety. “His commitment and dedication to the company’s short- and long-term success have helped it innovate, grow and prosper. But perhaps most important, Mike is a consistent, approachable leader. His down-to-earth management style fosters open, productive, positive relationships. We are extremely proud of him.”
