New Appointment to Apprenticeship Council

PRESS RELEASE

HUNTERSVILLE, NC—The North Carolina Commissioner of Labor, Cherie Berry, has appointed Walter Siegenthaler of Max Daetwyler Corp. as chairman of the North Carolina Apprenticeship Council. The Council is involved in promoting the educational and practical training curriculum for apprenticeship programs throughout North Carolina.

In 1995 Max Daetwyler Corp. was one of the founding companies of the Apprenticeship 2000 program, which works in cooperation with Central Piedmont Community College. After completion of the program, students earn an A.A.S. degree in Manufacturing Technology and receive an Apprenticeship Certification from the North Carolina Dept. of Labor. Berry uses the program as a model for other occupations where apprenticeship training would be of value to employers and students.
