Tokyo Pack 2012 To Provide Connections

TOKYO, JAPAN | Tokyo Pack 2012, organized by the Japan Packaging Inst. (JPI), will run October 2–5 at the Big Sight Tokyo International Exhibition Center.
According to JPI, the show’s theme is "Tsunagaru,” the Japanese word to describe the concept of maintaining a connection that comes from the power of the spirit, soul, and one’s will, and has become very important as the world becomes increasingly globalized and impersonal. “It is only through discussion and the exchange of ideas face to face that the global packaging industry can mature, create exciting new solutions, and help provide answers to the world’s problems of food safety and proper delivery, counterfeiting, security of material supply, and environmental pollution,” says a JPI spokesperson.
Five major Japanese players in the global packaging industry are among those who have confirmed their attendance at Tokyo Pack 2012: Rengo Co., producer of paperboard, corrugated, flexible packaging, and heavy-duty packaging; Ishida Co., provider of weighing, packaging, and inspecting solutions; Takara Pac, a supplier of tags and labels; Idemitsu Unitech Co., supplier of sheet, film, resealable zipper tape, and nonwovens; and Anritsu Industrial Solutions Co., which offers solutions for contaminant detection, automatic weight inspection, and combination weighers.
