MPI Label Adds Two Mark Andy Machines

ST. LOUIS, MO | Mark Andy reports MPI Label Systems, Sebring, OH, has installed two new Performance Series P7 presses in its US facilities. The first installation, a ten-color, 17-in. water-based press with a final UV station, has been running production since August 2009.

The second is a ten-color, 17-in. combination UV- and water-based press with an embossing unit and hot foil cassette, along with an additional rail system that holds rotary screen, web turnbars, and other value-added possibilities. It has been running production since September 2009.

Sirit Inc., Toronto, ON, Canada, reports the Bay Area Toll Authority has confirmed a transponder order valued at $6.6 million. The order calls for Sirit to make its traditional sealed Title-21-based toll transponders, including packaged tags, available at retail locations.
Lexmark Intl., Lexington, KY, expands its relationship with Primera Technology, Plymouth, MN, which has incorporated Lexmark's color inkjet technology into a wide range of products since 1998. The first model produced under the new agreement is the Primera CX1200 Digital Color Label Press, which prints full-color labels in a roll-to-roll configuration.

Charlotte, NC-based tesa tape expands its line of adhesive tapes for marking and identification purposes, introducing tesa 6940 Rapid, an enhanced laser label product for permanent marking applications. It is available in a variety of colors and is equipped with an embedded tamper-proof security feature.
KPG Corp., Williston, VT, announces a new partnership to represent France-based SMAG Graphique, a manufacturer of high-end finishing equipment for the digital and self-adhesive label and flex-pack industries.
Rotocontrol, Ahrensburg, Germany, a manufacturer of finishing machines, is now a member of FINAT. The company also enters the North American market with a distribution agreement with GraphixOne, Cincinnati, OH. Van Zalinge Benelux B.V. is distributing Rotocontrol machines in Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
