Colordyne Press Suited for On-Demand Labels

BROOKFIELD, WI | Colordyne Technologies, a manufacturer and distributor of high-resolution digital color label and tag printers, has released the 2800 Series Mini Laser Pro, which provides on-demand digital label and tag production with in-line lamination and laser die-cutting capabilities. Company says the 2800 Series Mini Laser Pro is a compact, turnkey solution designed for mid-volume label production. With the in-line finishing capabilities, users can protect high-resolution aqueous inks with lamination and create custom label shapes and sizes with laser die-cutting. Users reportedly experience greater flexibility and can produce a broader range of applications.
"Our customers are looking for a turnkey digital production solution at an affordable price point," says Andy Matter, GM of Colordyne Technologies. "So, we saw the opportunity to build a mid-range printing platform with flexible in-line finishing that complements our existing 3600 Series Laser Pro.”
The 2800 Series Mini Laser Pro is engineered for fast production speeds and high-quality images. The print module uses a single Memjet printhead producing full-color, CMYK graphics to 8.77 in. (222.8 mm) wide. It runs at speeds to 60 fpm (18 m) and produces a premium resolution to 1,600 x 1,600 dpi.
User-friendly interface and job library allow users of all skill levels to produce even the most complex images and shapes with ease, company says. Press can run in three separate modes: print and cut, print only, and cut only. This is said to eliminate waste and lead times for label orders, improve flexibility to support private branding and personalization strategies, and support highly variable applications with just-in-time delivery.
"We engineered the 2800 Series Mini Laser Pro with entry-level and mid-level users in mind," says Matter. "It's a production-grade solution allowing users to maintain the professional quality of their labels in-house and incorporate just-in-time label printing into their business. Users can print what they need, when they need it, all while eliminating the delays and waste associated with outsourcing. In-house digital print production is the best way for brands to build an affordable, flexible and responsive label production environment without needing to be a label manufacturer."
