Pulse Roll Label Products Launches FPC Ink
- Published: April 12, 2017
BRISTOL, UK | Narrow web ink specialist Pulse Roll Label Products announces the global launch of its PureTone Food Packaging Compliant (FPC) UV flexo ink system, which is complemented by a new range of other FPC UV flexo products formulated specifically for the food label market.
Company says the new food packaging compliant ink, intended for nondirect food contact labeling and packaging applications, builds on the success of its PureTone ink system launched at Labelexpo Europe (http://www.labelexpo-europe.com) in 2015. PureTone provides a total color management solution for narrow web label printers, brand owners, and retailers by providing what is reported to be superior color consistency, accuracy, and repeatability. PureTone FPC is suitable for label converters supplying industry sectors that require compliance to food packaging regulations and guidelines.
As with the original PureTone ink system, PureTone FPC includes a high-strength process series (including process inks that enable the printer to achieve ISO 12647-6) and a mono-pigmented mixing base scheme said to result in clean and crisp colors for easy and accurate color matching. Label printers benefit from the optimized color strength that allows lower film weights, increased press stability, and complete pre-press color control through digital ink management, all resulting in greater production efficiencies. PureTone FPC is suitable for shrink films as well as general label printing, with excellent adhesion to a wide range of substrates including coated papers and films, company adds.
To complement the new PureTone FPC UV flexo ink system, a food packaging compliant shrink sleeve opaque white, backing black, high density black, and a selection of metallic inks are also available. New food packaging compliant varnishes, adhesives, and additives include gloss, satin, matte, and ultra matte varnishes, the company’s best-selling peel-and-read release varnish and laminating adhesives. All FPC UV flexo products have been formulated to comply with the regulations and guidelines for non-direct food contact packaging applications.
Gary Seward, managing director, Pulse Roll Label Products, says, “We are committed to the principles of protecting food consumer safety within the areas under our control, and consequently, [our company] is a fully engaged partner in the food packaging supply chain. We are pleased to now introduce PureTone FPC, the next evolution of our flagship ink system, into the global label market, in line with the very latest guidelines issued by EuPIA concerning Good Manufacturing Practice.”
