Adhesives Research Opens Tech Center in Singapore

GLEN ROCK, PA, USA—Adhesives Research Inc. reports it recently celebrated the opening of a Technical Center in Singapore. According to the manufacturer of pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes, coatings, speciality films and laminates, the new center "builds upon operations that were established in 2000 to create a presence [in the Asian market]."

At the center's opening late last fall, Assistant Managing Director of the Economic Development Board of Singapore Tan Chek Ming congratulated the material supplier for opening a tech center "in a country with a strong commitment to technological innovations and the protection of intellectual property rights." Ming added, "The opening of Adhesives Research's R&D laboratory marks a journey of growth in partnership with Singapore. We are convinced that Singapore is well positioned to be the anchor for Adhesive Research's growth and look forward to the development of a long-term partnership."

Also at the opening, Adhesives Research says it presented a "technical expo" to demonstrate some of the company's current and new adhesive technologies, such as PSA/UV dual-stage adhesives, which the manufacturer says are for the encapsulation of OLEDs. Adhesives Research also showed its self-wetting adhesives, which are used for bonding touchscreens directly onto liquid-crystal displays.
