FlexSol Packaging Grows with W&H Blown Film Line

LINCOLN, RI | The Nashville, TN, facility of FlexSol Packaging, a wholly-owned div. of Lyndhurst, NJ-based Sigma Plastics Group, will accommodate growth with the installation of a high-output, five-layer VAREX line from Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corp. This is Flexsol's fourth VAREX from W&H at the Nashville plant.

The line will produce film primarily for food packaging and is expected to begin production by Q4 2011. The line is 87 in. wide and is equipped with a stacked MULTICOOL D air ring and FILMATIC TX dual turret winder.

Sigma Plastics has more than 20 coextrusion blown film lines from W&H and has purchased five VAREX lines in 2011 for installation at two other Sigma companies. ISO Poly Films, Gray Court, SC, has a seven-layer, 87-in.-wide line and two three-layer lines (110 in. and 126 in.) and one 63-in. five-layer line. McNeely Plastics, Clinton, MS, added a 71-in. three-layer line.

Alfred Teo, chairman and CEO of Sigma Plastic Group, comments, W&H machinery performs extraordinarily well for our product lines, and we intend to continue growing with W&H."
