F.L. Smith November Open House for Envelope Converters

PRESS RELEASE

DUNCANSVILLE, PA | F.L. Smith Machine Co. will hold an Open House with equipment demonstrations for envelope converters November 6-8, 2007, at its Duncansville, PA, plant. Each day, there will be multiple demonstrations of the SW Sideseam web machine with the enhanced servo press model ESP, the FPC Servo multi substrate press, and the SR Servo Rotamatic machine.

The Open House will begin with a plant tour, and then F.L. Smith will print a roll-feed job on its FPC Servo flexographic press, which will be slit and rewound on press. The printed roll will then go to the SW machine where it will be converted—windows die cut, film windows inserted, glue added, and folded—all inline, ready for shipping. In the second demonstration, pre-printed stock will be converted on a Champion SR (servo rotamatic) envelope machine with shovel feed system. In the last demonstration, a piece will be printed and converted inline using the ESP flexographic press connected to the SW machine where the converting process will be repeated. The unprinted roll stock will enter one end and finish printed and converted envelopes at the other end.

Each day of the Open House will feature the same three demonstrations. For reservations, call Donna Confer at 814/695-5521, ext. 225. Donna also will have airport and hotel information.
