HOLLAND, OH | The Packaging Conference 2018, scheduled for February 5–7, at the Wyndham Grand Orlando - Bonnet Creek, Orlando, FL, will address packaging innovation, differentiation, and e-commerce, said to be the driving forces behind new product introductions. Those topics, as well as emerging equipment technologies and the environment will be the focal points of the event, which is produced by Plastic Technologies and SBA-CCI.
Key speakers include Garry Kohl, senior director of packaging, Frito Lay; Paul Kayser, president and CEO, Pretium Packaging; and Betty Jean Pilon, president, Montebello Packaging. Kohl will be discussing snack packaging sustainability imperatives in an era of advancing e-commerce; Kayser will detail technological inroads behind the recent launch of SureHandle, the first PET container blown with an integrated handle; and Pilon will explain the features of new uShape custom-shaped aluminum bottle options.
Attendees will also hear about a new PET bottle recycling approach from Robert Daviduk, co-chief executive officer of rPlanet Earth. The company is planning on opening the largest PET recycling facility in California next March. This will reportedly be a departure from traditional recycling ventures since they will be producing preforms and thermoforms instead of resin.
“The conference is designed to provide the latest information for those in the packaging supply chain,” says John Maddox, president, SBA-CCI. “Attendees range from retailers and brand owners to resin suppliers, technology providers, equipment manufacturers, and converters. Providing a forum which helps facilitate dialog between supply chain participants is an important element in meeting packaging objectives.”
In addition to the extensive conference schedule, several key industry suppliers will also be promoting their technology via tabletop exhibits.
Discounted early registration (by January 20th) is available.
