Weber Packaging Solutions Launches Digital Labels

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL | Weber Packaging Solutions announces a line of Durable Digital film label materials designed to maximize long-term performance when used in conjunction with HP’s pigmented Digital ElectroInks.
Company says a durable label is intended to remain with a durable good throughout the product’s life and must withstand possible hostile environments such as exposures to chemicals, extreme temperatures, or UV light. Additionally, the label often must be recognized by UL as being a component itself of the durable good. The products are said to deliver high-performance labels for applications such as industrial machinery, instrumentation, automotive, consumer electronics, electronic components, power tools, and sporting goods. And with digital printing, as few as 500 labels can be supplied, each unique with variable printing if desired.
Three product categories are offered:
• Digiflex BOPP, described as an economical material suited for printing decorative graphics
• Digiweb Vinyl, a material for curved surfaces
• Digiplate PET, a strong material suitable for flat industrial surfaces
Company reports the materials, once printed with the HP ElectroInk, are covered with Weber’s Digilam PET materials overlaminate film to achieve long, durable life and UL 969 recognition.
