NewPage Introduces Specialty Paper

STEVENS POINT, WI | NewPage Corp., a supplier of specialty papers, announces the introduction of FlexPack Essential, flexible packaging papers designed for lamination and extrusion applications in food and medical packaging.

Designed for flexible packaging requiring a smooth, semi-gloss finish and FDA compliance for food contact, FlexPack Essential works with emulsion, solventless, and solvent laminations and is available in a variety of basis weights from 22.5#–55# (3,000 ft2). Company also says paper’s rigidity and on-the-shelf performance offer brand owners a more sustainable flexible packaging option when compared to traditional film substrates.

“Consumers are demanding more responsible packaging,” says Jim Sheibley, director of business and product development for specialty papers. “With the creation of FlexPack Essential, [we] offer brand owners the ability to add more renewable content to their flexible packaging without compromising on-the-shelf performance.“
