Preco Expands Laser Enhanced Capabilities

SOMERSET, WI | Preco, toll converter of laser placed enhancements in flexible packaging, announces new processing capabilities in which company has initiated and completed an upgrade to its existing roll handling capabilities.

Company can now produce its web direction AcuTear laser scoring for easy-opening features and AcuBreathe precision high-speed perforating in web widths to 50 in wide. Additional capabilities include cross-web AcuTear and AcuBreathe processing to 36-in.-wide webs. Future capabilities, scheduled to be introduced in the Q2 2014 will include web-direction AcuTear scoring in widths to 63 in.

Matt Lackner, key account manager for flexible packaging, says. “We were being challenged by our customer base to increase the range of our capabilities, so [we] accepted the challenge. This is already paying dividends, as we have been able to close substantial new business as a result of this offering.”
